For the past five years, I have assisted in coordinating at least a thousand media interviews. Cooperating with the media is exhilarating and humbling. Sometimes it's both at once. Cooperating|Working} with the media|Cooperating with tape is rolling|mic is was favorable in the past|wrote a positive piece in the past}, doesn’t mean you’ll get a positive story in the future.
2. Journalists are out to get me. Occasionally yes, but most often not. Journalists simply want a great story.
3. It’s best not to disclose. Hiding information can ruin trust with both the media and your customers and employees. Today's world respects and expects honesty.
4. I must answer every question posed. Remember that you have control over what you do and do not say. Just as the interviewer can choose to ask, you {can choose|are {allowed|free to not answer. Just redirect the question to your main points if you don’t want to answer.
